Police officer saves child stuck in river

Police officer saves child stuck in river

A Richmond police officer saved a child stuck in the James River over the weekend. Officer Anthony Paciello was in the Pony Pasture parking lot Saturday evening when he heard screams for help at the river bank.

A five-year-old boy’s foot was stuck between rocks and his parents were holding his head above the water.

"I jumped in the water just below him and another citizen that came over straddled the rocks and held me from going with the current while I was trying to get underneath the water,” Paciello said.

Officer Paciello took off the boy's velcro shoe and slid his foot out. He says the child appeared to be okay, but he was taken to the hospital just in case.

Yet again, cops doing the stuff that anyone could have done, but none did.
    And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.
In Nomine Patris, Et Filli, Et Spiritus Sancti.

Yup, this story is but a few lines in a paper. But if they find one cop that used a wee bit too much force, and had to make a split second decision, it would take up half a f*&*ing page.

When you find yourself in a hole............QUIT DIGGING!!!!!!!!!

OK guys time to come clean. I am not only a police officer but I am also a big time movie star. I am using my real photo as my avatar now. Please NO autographs!!!!

Yep, that's always the case for good samaritians of any background - If things go well, they're 2nd-page footnotes, but if things go wrong, they find themselves in the headlines & in court for a year or two

I'm glad this hero is getting some recognition.
