Michael Moore claims Republicans are hugging and agreeing with him more than ever now
Controversial film director Michael Moore now claims that Republicans who once strongly opposed his political point of view are warming up to him, even hugging him in public.
"If you were to hang out with me here it won't be five or 10 minutes before you see a Republican hug me. That is almost as entertaining as some of the films," Moore told Reuters.
The liberal activist and political lightning rod hasn't changed his claim from his 2004 documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" in which he alleges President Bush misled Americans about the reasons to send U.S. troops to Iraq. But he says more people are now viewing the situation like he does.
"That's the shift that I'm seeing in the past year or so in the country, and as it relates to me," he said
I want to know which Republicans are now in bed with Michael Moore," Terise Sherber of Hallandale Beach, Fla., tells WND. "I don't believe a word this subhuman says."
Moore says some people in solidly Republican northern Michigan and elsewhere have re-evaluated their position, and now believe they made a "colossal mistake" in strongly supporting the war at its outset.
The director, who has become accustomed to traveling with security and experiencing hostile encounters, says some Republicans are spontaneously embracing him these days.
"Look up the definition of liberal. We hug trees. We hug each other. We hug people of the same sex and want to marry each other," Moore said. "It's the other side that we need to get to hold their arms out a little bit and coochey-coo."
In 2003, Moore was booed and escorted from the Kodak Theater by security when he used his Academy Award acceptance speech for his "Bowling for Columbine" documentary to lash out at Bush.
Moore said that night he believes in non-fiction despite the fact that "we live in a time with fictitious election results that elect fictitious presidents. We live in a time when we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons.''
He went on to exclaim, ''We are against this war Mr. Bush. Shame on you! Shame on you!''
Moore tells Reuters now, "I remember going back to my hotel room that night, where they had all the pundits on post-Oscar and they were all like, 'That's the end of Michael Moore. That's the last we'll see of him.' By the end of the night, I believed it."

I thought the definition of a hug is putting your arms around someone in a heartfelt embrace. I am 6'1" 235 and I don't think that I could put my arms around that fat bastard. I would be more than happy to wrap about 3 oz of C4 around him instead.

How's that saying go: keep your friends close and enemies even closer. Has he checked his back after the hug and found knives and daggers hanging from his back!
