Another Opening in Dallas: Officer Fired for Exposing Himself
I started to put this in the "Dumb Criminals" section, but there isn't one...
Chief: Dallas officer fired after exposing himself
By BILL MILLER
Star-Telegram Staff Writer
Dallas police chief David Kunkle has fired another of his officers.
Officer George A. Chavarri, who was assigned to the family violence unit, lost his job after a Royse City police officer found him exposing himself inside a vehicle on a street in that city, according to a news release issued Tuesday by Kunkle.
Chavarri was also allegedly being drunk on a street in Royse City, a community in northeast Rockwall County, the news release said.
Also, the officer improperly used a department vehicle, according to the release.
Kunkle, a former police chief and deputy city manager for the city of Arlington, took the Dallas chief's job in 2004 with an agenda to reduce crime and improve the department. The DPD has been tainted by a fake drugs scandal and other instances of officers violating the law.
More than a dozen officers have been fired in recent months. All have the right to appeal their dismissals, the news release said.
Chavarri joined the department in 1992, according to the release.Last edited by TXCharlie; 08-09-06 at 02:07 PM.

Human stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
In law enforcement, the customer is ALWAYS wrong.
In God we trust. Everyone else is run through NCIC.
Sometimes there is justice. Sometimes there is just us.
I'd rather be tried by 12 then carried by 6.

One afternoon I was driving at work and heard a call come out that security at a shopping center was holding an exposer. A car was sent and shortly after they arrived, they called for a traffic Sgt. I thought, uh oh, the only reason they would need a traffic Sgt. at an exposer call would be if it was one of his guys.
Sure as hell, it was one of the M/C guys off duty. I can honestly say that it surprised everybody that knew him. He was a good, hardworking cop, pleasant to be around and well liked. I guess some people just have some wiring installed wrong, I dunno. When I used to be somebody (I'm center top)
