PCSO PULLS MACHINE GUN ON COPS IN NICK
EXCLUSIVE Officer held after mates flee for cover
By Phil Nettleton
A POLICE community support officer has been arrested after he allegedly threatened terrified colleagues with an imitation sub-machine gun.
The 20-year-old is said to have pointed the highly realistic replica at three other officers and squeezed the trigger during a row over his computer.
The officers - fearing the weapon was a genuine Heckler and Koch MP5 carbine - fled for cover at the Met Police nick.
A source claimed: "This guy just picked up the gun when one of the other officers had not turned on his computer for him. The PCSOs had to be treated for shock.
"Police were within moments of calling in a firearms team. Nobody knew if the gun was real or not. Tough new laws to curb the use of imitation guns can mean five years in prison."
The officer was arrested for possessing an imitation firearm and causing alarm at the Empress State building in Earl's Court, west London. He was based in Fulham.
Real MP5s are used by crack police marksmen but the imitation could only fire ball bearings.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "A PCSO is now on police bail."
PCSOs are uniformed employees with no powers of arrest.

They don't fire ball bearings!! They fire 6mm plastic pellets that are DESIGNED to be fired at other people! I hate the way this Government are so paranoid about anything vaguely gun shaped!. The PCSO was a prat and deserves being charged though.

Yes the story is taken from a red top newspaper as well so slightly on the sensational side.
Plus side though 1 less PCSO maybe they could spend the money saved on something more useful like a hat stand

Good point. Actually it's a shame it wasn't a real gun, then there would have been even less. I suppose they'll sue for stress and get compensation. I shouldn't criticise them really, I keep toying with joining. All that money, for doing bugger all, bunged on top of the pension could be quite nice.
