Illinois fugitive who impersonated rock star arrested in Nashville
September 20, 2006 NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police in Nashville, Tennessee, have arrested a man wanted in Illinois for attacking two women while impersonating a nationally known musician.
The man is not being named because he has not yet been charged.
Police say he frequented bars in southern Illinois claiming to be Paul Phillips, a guitarist for the band Puddle of Mudd.
The man was arrested last weekend after his case was shown on an episode of the T-V show "America's Most Wanted."
Police say the man attacked a woman in Carbondale in June, approaching her in a parking lot and holding something against her neck.
When a witness yelled for him to stop, he pushed the woman to the ground and fled.
He is accused of a similar attack in Ullin.
