Vandals Bring More Grief To Fallen Ft. Worth Officer's Family
POSTED: 11:14 pm CDT September 20, 2006
FORT WORTH, Texas -- Crime at a local cemetery is causing heartache and grief for the family of a fallen officer, NBC 5 reported.
Officer Hank Nava died last year in the line of duty.
Vandals have twice stolen expensive granite vases from the officer's gravesite at Greenwood Cemetery, his family said Wednesday.
Nava's widow, Teresa Nava, suspects the thefts were intentional because all of the other graves were untouched.

Ya know, I have a huge problem with the Ft. Worth PD not being able to protect the grave of one of their own. I know that I would VOLUNTEER to watch the grave on my own time in an effort to provide support to his family. Buncha ass clowns that nobody has stepped up to do so.

We've had some major problems with cemetery vases being stolen, then sold for scrap - those were bronze.
I doubt the officer's grave is being targeted though - someone is stealing them for landscaping.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.

Doubtful, these are granite vases. And only his were removed. I happen to know where he's resting and there are fanicer vases just 15 feet from his grave. There are more ornate things to steal there. His grave is being targeted because of who he was, and how he was murdered by a rotten son of a bitch. Hank Nava deserves better than his "buddies" have given him.

That's pretty low for someone to steal off a grave. Unfortunately, it happens all too often.
If I worked for Fort Worth I would take that personally, it's pretty much a slap in the face! Hopefully they'll get an officer on it and catch the losers responsible...
