Failed burglar died crossing M25
A 29-year-old man died when he was hit by a car on the M25 as he fled the scene of an attempted burglary
Sonny Demanuele, from Denham, Bucks, died near Maple Cross, Hertfordshire, just before midnight on 31 March.
He had significant traces of cocaine, methadone and morphine in his system, Hatfield Coroner's Court was told.
Coroner Edward Thomas recorded a verdict of misadventure from multiple injuries resulting from "his own reckless actions".
Witness Stuart Powell was driving to Heathrow Airport to collect his partner when he noticed a "flash" in his headlights.
"I didn't see very much at all. In my left headlight I saw a shape low down, I thought it might have been a deer. In my right headlight I saw two eyes, low down. Then I heard a loud bang," he said.
Robert Bacon told the court he was driving between junctions 16 and 17 on the M25 when he suddenly noticed two people emerge from bushes onto the hard shoulder.
He said the men ran onto the motorway without looking and hopped over the central barrier.
Insp Terry Robb said it was thought Demanuele had been involved in an attempted burglary in the area before crossing the motorway.
Another man had been arrested in connection with the incident.
Just as some background a motorway is like a freeway with car sometimes traveling at speeds in excess of 100 MPH. The M25 is Englands busiest motorway and in some sections is 16 lanes wide.

I hope the driver had full comprehensive insurance. Hate for him to have to pay for the damage, having done us all a favour. To be born an Englishman, is to be a winner in the Lottery of Life.

Another sad loss to society.
Oh well saved some court time and tax payers money.
This isn't the loser that was being chased by the old bill is it? I seem to remember some tree hugging hippies trying to say it was our fault for chasing him!
Maybe that was just another similarly tragic tale from one of our other great cities.the sole advantage of power is that you can do more good.
