MO. Chief's Son Charged With Playing Cop

    Wed Oct 11, 8:51 PM

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. - A suburban St. Louis police chief's son was charged with impersonating an officer, more than a week after being arrested for sporting police clothes and pulling motorists over in his dad's unmarked police car.

Ballwin Police Chief James Biederman's son, Paul Biederman, 23, was charged Tuesday with a misdemeanor count of impersonating a police officer, avoiding a more serious charge of felony tampering because the city of Ballwin, which owns the police car, refused to press charges, said St. Charles Country Prosecutor Jack Banas.

If found guilty, Biederman could face up to a year in jail or up to a $1,000 fine.

Banas said his department was still reviewing the case against an 18-year-old who accompanied Biederman when they were pulling over cars.

Authorities said the two men were using the car's siren and lights to pull over motorists and check their licenses on Oct. 1. They both wore cargo pants and shirts with police logos. The chief's son even wore a gun belt with an air pistol that resembled a .40-caliber Glock, police said.

Their fun ended when they pulled over an off-duty St. Charles County sheriff's detective, who didn't believe their story that they were on special assignment with the Ballwin police department.

The two fled and were later arrested at Biederman's home.

How do people honestly believe they will get away with this these days?

The not-so-bright people of this world think that they can get away with anything and everything. Honestly, you hear about stupid crimes people commit but this is ridiculous! I could maybe see it coming from an 18 year old trying to just be dumb, but a 23 year old should know better than to do something so dumb. Then again, maybe my view of maturity levels is off...

The entire story while sad in its own right is kinda funny. I remember hearing the story while at home on the news, and laughing about it. I mean the town they are in is not exactly that big of a town. Its not like the citizens of that town are not going to notice who the "cop" is or is not. Dumb ass kids.
Being the best is not what always counts. What counts is always trying your best.

Remember who you are, and where you came from. That way you never get a big head.

May those that lost their lives in 9-11 RIP, for the things you did not many could do. You left so many behind so that you could save so few. For now we stand strong as one, and will not look back till the fight is done. (me)

How'd he get the car in the first place? Daddy needs a good smacking, too.
    And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.

The dad (chief of police) was on out of town on a training and left his patrol car at home thinking it was safe.

Although an 18 year old should know better also, having it come from a 23 year old just makes him look even more stupid!
