One Alabama Cop Killed, One Wounded in Shooting

FAIRFIELD, Ala. — One police officer was killed and another was wounded Monday in a shooting in a suburb west of Birmingham.
Three Birmingham television stations reported that the officer was fatally shot at about 10:15 a.m. The second officer is in surgery with a bullet wound, reports say.
One person was taken into custody, and police cars blocked roads searching for at least one more suspect.
The shooting took place several blocks from Miles College and a few miles from the scene of a shooting that killed three police officers in Birmingham in June 2004.

I just read that the officer had only been on the job for a month before she was killed. I pray that the other Officer makes it.
