Officer from my dept shot 3 times
One of my own was shot last night three times. We all feared the worst but, luckly he will be ok. Story below.
Suspect Dead, Officer Wounded After Overnight Standoff
(KSDK) - A man who barricaded himself inside a south St. Louis County home was fatally shot after he pointed a rifle at police, investigators said Monday.
The standoff began around 10:30 p.m. Sunday after a citizen stopped by a St. Louis County Police precinct and asked police to check on a homeowner in the 200 block of Runyon Avenue.
When police arrived, they found the door to the home had been barricaded shut. At that point, they say an armed man began shooting at officers.
A St. Louis County police officer was shot three times in the buttocks with what appeared to be a deer rifle.
The officer -- who is in his 20s -- was taken to St. Louis University Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Around 3:30 a.m. Monday, police used tear gas in an effort to coax the man from the house. He left the home from a second story window holding a dog and a gun.
Police say they shot the man after he pointed the gun toward officers.
Police did not release the identities of any of the individuals involved, other than to say the armed man and the homeowner were "acquaintances."
Police have not been able to locate the homeowner. The opinions given in my posts DO NOT reflect the opinions, views, policies, and/or procedures of my employing agency.
