Deputy William H. Beebe Down (Maryland)
Deputy William H. Beebe of the Harford County, Md. Sheriff's Office was killed when his cruiser left the road in Abingdon, Md. the night of Nov. 27, according to the sheriff's office.
The deputy was responding to assist other deputies on an attempted suicide call around 11:30 p.m., when his vehicle traveled close to 60 yards down an embankment and came to rest in a shallow creek bed, a press release stated.
Deputies arrived within minutes of the crash, determined that Deputy Beebe was in cardiac arrest, removed him from the vehicle and initiated CPR. Despite their efforts, Beebe was pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m. at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Md.
