Des Moines Officer Killed In Accident

A Des Moines police officer was killed Sunday morning in a traffic accident.
Officials say 35-year-old Sean Wissink was one of several Metro Star tactical officers who planned to attend sessions on weapons of mass destruction in New Mexico.
He was killed about 3:30 a.m. north of Grimes while driving to the Des Moines International Airport.
Officials say Wissink may have swerved to avoid a deer.
He served as a police officer since the summer of 1997.
