For Anyone Interested

Our department had 6 officers shot in less then 7 months. All but two have returned to full duty and the other two are expected to make a full recovery. They are all my brothers in blue and a couple are very dear friends. In honor of them all, I'd like to share our web page that shows some of the calls on video and shows the awards ceremony when they received their medals. SO.....check it out if you are interested! God was truly watching over these guys, as he does us all everyday.

PDAWG, I see you're a dispatcher. I'm not sure how your department works, but our dispatchers that worked our officer down calls got medals at the awards ceremony. I thought that was fantastic! I know how much we depend on our dispatchers and what a vital roll they play in the whole picture. It's about time you all were honored too.

As a civi I'm all for having good dispatchers rewarded. I don't know that job any better than I know the job of the officer on the street, but I do appreciate when I get good service from either.

That's very cool! I don't know that any of our dispatchers received the same medals as officers, but they certainly get letters of recognition.

What we value the most, is being included in the debriefings. We are in a seperate facility from the units in the field, and they sometimes forget how we can be emotionaly affected by those calls.
