Texas SWAT Officer Shot
Texas SWAT Officer Shot in Warrant Service, Suspect Dead
AP: 6/3/2007
A Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputy remains in critical condition after being shot during a raid.
The shooting happened early Friday in La Paloma near San Benito. Deputy Angel Perez was part of the SWAT team sent to serve arrest and search warrants at a home. That is when Mario Cabrera Linares shot several times and hit Perez in the mouth. Officers then shot Linares, he later died.
Perez is being treated at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
Deputies have been at the scene of the shooting all night gathering evidence.

Wise men stand behind me, brave men stand beside me, but only fools stand against me.
The force that propels you to prevail when you are put to a test of survival will be a mindset that refuses to accept nothing but winning.
Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to reach out and bitch slap that motherf*cker upside the head.

Any nearby LEF members? If so, please let us know how we can help out, send cards, etc.

Police Officers put themselves at risk for strangers every day. Some do not make it home to their families. Next time you think of saying something negative about the police, remember...YOU are one of the strangers.

I hope the officer survives. As for the shooter, he got what he deserved.
