LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va.-- The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.
State Police said Deputy Justin Thompson died Tuesday night after he lost control of his cruiser. The car hit a guardrail and flipped on its side.
The accident happened just after 11 p.m. near the Wash Creek exit on US 119 in Boone County.
The 25-year-old recently returned from serving in Iraq.
He had been working for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department for about five years.
The Boone County Sheriff's Department is investigating the accident.
Rest in peace brother.
