RIP Trooper Rich.
This happened just around the corner from my hometown, and I know the local area is going to feel devastated by his loss. As far as the POS that did this, iso607 already stated my feelings.\\` ` ` ` < ` )___/\

RIP, sir.
The bastard that shot him is from around my area here in Michigan. There’s a promise I need you to make
While I’m gone you take care of the love
And I’ll deal with the hate.
Don’t worry about me; I’ll be all right
Just care for your children and sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe on my watch tonight

State trooper killed in highway shooting
WABASH, Ind. (AP) -- A state trooper and another person were killed during a shooting Thursday along a northern Indiana highway, state police said.
The shooting happened along U.S. 24 about 4 p.m. and investigators were working to piece together what happened, state police Sgt. Tony Slocum said.
Master Trooper Detective David Rich, 41, was killed, Slocum said. Rich, an 18-year veteran of the state police, was married with three children and the son of retired state trooper and former Miami County Sheriff Jack Rich.
The person believed to have shot Rich also was killed, though Slocum said he could not immediately describe the circumstances. The name of that person was not immediately released.
The shooting prompted authorities to shut down the four-lane highway in both directions around the scene about 40 miles southwest of Fort Wayne. There are only two kinds of real justice left: street and poetic...
