Police Chief dies in chase.
Wise men stand behind me, brave men stand beside me, but only fools stand against me.
The force that propels you to prevail when you are put to a test of survival will be a mindset that refuses to accept nothing but winning.
Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to reach out and bitch slap that motherf*cker upside the head.

Would the suspect be held responsible for the death of the police officer, considering he was the one they were in pursuit of?

Last year a NY Trooper Craig Todeschini was killed when his Tahoe struck a tree while he was pursuing a motorcyclist. The 21 year old suspect James Carncross was convicted of a parole violation and Aggravated Criminally Negligent Homicide. Carncross was sentenced to 7 years in state prison.
Prior to Trooper Todeschini's death there were no laws for people "evading" police. As a result of this tragedy lawmakers have passed a bill making it a misd in NY for drivers to intentionally try to evade police in a vehicle while speeding 25mph over the limit or engaging in reckless driving. If anyone is injured or killed the charge is increased to a felony.

Carncross found guilty of aggravated criminally negligent homicide

Up to 20 years behind bars for the man found guilty of causing the death of a New York State Trooper. After 10 hours of deliberations, a jury found James Carncross guilty of aggravated criminally negligent homicide for the death of Trooper Craig Todeschini.
The jury decided Carncross was the driver of the motorcycle that lead the trooper on a high speed chase through the Central New york town of Pompey this past April. Todeschini died when his vehicle hit a tree.
Carncross was found not guilty on a charge of aggravated second degree manslaughter. Todeschini's family applauded the jury's decision.
"The jury has spoken. I think the County and residents of Pompey and Onondaga have spoken also saying enough is enough. That this is not going to be tolerated. Thank God the lawmakers in Albany came out with Craig's Law that's going to stop this for good. This is not going to happen again. No family will have to go through this again," said James Todeschini, Craig's Father.
Defense Attorney Sal Piemonte said, "The Todeschini family has lost a valuable asset to their family and from what I understand a genuinely great man and that has to be heartbreaking for them no doubt. My clients are suffering the loss of their son to probably a prison sentence that's going to be lengthy and under circumstances that are just tragic all the way around."
Carncross will be sentenced January 10th.
Earlier this year the state legislature passed a law nicknamed "Craig's Law," making it a felony to evade police.
