3 officers shot in Odessa,TX 2 dead 1 in critical condition

Got a call from my mother last night 3 OPD officers shot, 2 dead, 1 in critical condition and life flighted to Lubbock,TX hospital. My thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of the slain officers and hope the other officer pulls through. Rest in peace brothers.

I just got up and was drinking my coffee when I read this on the news.......I think this will put Texas at 19 lost officers this year.....way to many brothers have been lost in this state this year..

Condition update on third officer Abel Marquez

They waited. They hoped. But it looks like they’re going to lose Cpl. Abel Marquez.

There going to let him go He’s right above brain dead — he has very minimal brain activity. Able Marquez's doctors plan to observe him with no sedation until 10 a.m. Tuesday. Then, if Abel Marquez shows no signs of improvement, they’ll let him go. They postponed surgery today, because they said he took a turn for the worse.

He’s in very critical condition, It’s very severe right now. Abel had been shot multiple times in the hands, arms, neck and face.

“It’s going to look like a buckshot hit him because there are multiple wounds on his arms and neck,” hes brother said. “His badge took the hit, and it took an enamel ‘State of Texas’ off his badge.”

Phillip Marquez said his wounded brother’s children — 10-year-old daughter Sandra and 7-year-old son Isaac — went to Lubbock late Monday just in case their father’s condition worsened.

“We didn’t want them to see him when he wasn’t doing good,” he said. “Since the doctors are talking about his taking the turn for the worse, we want them to see him just in case he gets even worse.”

Pete Marquez said Abel’s kids are everything to his wounded brother.

“He’s an all around great person — he’s a super dad,” he said. “He was always a great dad to his kids.”

The three Marquez brothers, always close, all became police officers and work together at the Odessa Police Department. Abel loves police work, his brothers said....

Tonight there shall be many prayers said for him I am sure, I know I shall be one of them.

I will share one thing with you,, When the suspect Larry White was loaded into the "Bus" due to wounds recieved by Cpl. Abel Marquez, a Texas Ranger sat with him while two paramedics stablized his wounds,,, Larry White proclamed "F#($ those cops" and the Texas Ranger reached down to his weapon and while still holstered cocked his 9mm, both paramedics bailed from the bus... part of me wishes he had saved us the trial and 13 years of appeals before his last trip to the gas chamber...

Today Abel's two brothers had to make a decision on pulling the plug, but one wanted to, one did not so together they decided to give him two more days to fight... So far there is still only minimal brain activity, He alternates from getting a bit better then gets bad again...

Tomarrow (Wed) will be the funerals for the two that passed that fateful eve, I will be there with the Patriot Guard where we normaly escort our soldiers from the airport to there home when returning from Iraq/Afganistan or stand with our American Flags for our fallen Soldiers as they pass by as they enter the Cemetary but this time we are doing it for our Police hero's... Though I will be so honored to be there for them, I must say I am not looking forward to it, This will be tough....

Stand tall man. I'm done alot of military funeral's when I was active duty Navy and one police funeral and that was 1 too many. It was very moving yet very hard to do. Our best thoughts and prayers for the family's and friend's of the slain officers.
