Hope for a full recovery
There is some more info trickling out, one being that the police were constrained in their force options (tear gas, flash-bangs, etc) because the scumbags had an infant inside.

DALLAS -- A Dallas police tactical officer who was shot in the neck while serving a warrant on Wednesday morning is expected to survive.
Lt. Carlton Marshall was shot at least once while serving an Internal Revenue Service warrant at 6 a.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Hollywood Avenue in Oak Cliff, police said.

Marshall, a 21-year veteran who has worked in the SWAT team since November 2006, was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where he underwent surgery and is in critical but stable condition.
A SWAT team entered the residence to find an adult female, two adult males, a juvenile male and an infant. The infant was taken to Child Protective Services and the others were taken into police custody.
Police said the officer was not in the house when he was struck in the neck by a bullet.
Marshall is the highest-ranking Dallas official to be injured in recent years. His wife is a police officer in another agency and his father is a retired police officer, police said.
Police are holding a blood drive from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday on the south side of the Dallas Police Department's headquarters, located at 1400 S. Lamar Street.
Two SWAT doctors at the scene are being credited with saving Marshall's life: Dr. Alex Eastman, who works for UTSW and Parkland, and Dr. Jeff Metzger, who is an ER doctor.

He is not one of the ones from the show. You might have seen him in the mix but he is not one of the main characters.

SWAT doctors credited with saving Dallas officer's life
05:52 PM CDT on Wednesday, October 17, 2007
By TANYA EISERER, STEVE THOMPSON and KIMBERLY DURNAN / The Dallas
Morning News
Two doctors are being credited with saving the life of a Dallas SWAT
commander who was shot in the neck area Wednesday morning while
serving a federal warrant at an Oak Cliff home.
Dr. Alex Eastman and Dr. Jeff Metzger, both part of a UT Southwestern
Medical Center program, join the SWAT team on missions as often as
several times per week.
They were at the scene Wednesday, when Dallas police Lt. Carlton
Marshall, 44, was shot. A 19-year-old woman, Marisela Villa, has been
charged with attempted capital murder.
Seconds after the gunshot, the doctors met SWAT team members who were
dragging Lt. Marshall around toward the front of the small brick
house. They crouched in the grass over the lieutenant.
His airway was stopped up, and the doctors knew he could not get
oxygen. Dr. Metzger held the lieutenant's head in his hands while Dr.
Eastman cut a hole in his neck, allowing him to breathe.
"Hang in there; everything's going to be fine," they told their
friend, who couldn't speak but who they hoped might hear them.
Lt. Marshall was transported to Methodist Medical Center in Oak Cliff
for surgery and was expected to survive, Dallas police said. Lt.
Marshall was listed in critical but stable condition in the intensive
care unit, said hospital spokeswoman Kathleen Beathard.
As news of the shooting spread, police officers arrived at the
hospital to console each other. Colleagues describe Lt. Marshall as a
"hard-charging" police officer and a well-respected leader.
"He is a supervisor that wants to be on the front line. He always
wanted to be with the troops," said Dallas police Sgt. Roger Rudloff.
The City Council opened its meeting Wednesday with a prayer for the
wounded officer, who Mayor Tom Leppert said is a father of two. Dallas
police said the officer has been with the department for 21 years. His
wife is a police officer and his father is a former Dallas police officer.
Dallas police are praising the doctors for their work. "These skilled
physicians immediately treated the officer, saving his life," Dallas
police said in a statement Wednesday.
"I'm not sure what would have happened if we weren't there," Dr.
Eastman said. "But I'm sure glad that we were."

Chief Kunckle tonight seemed pretty upbeat on TV about the officer's prognosis (as upbeat as Chief Kunckle is ever known to get - If he cracks a smile, that's a pretty good sign).
He said that Lt. Marshall was aware of his surroundings, passing some mental evaluation tests, and is going in for precautionary neurological tests to make sure nerves in and around his spine weren't damaged.
Yea, good thing those SWAT doctors were there - They say his mouth was filling up with blood fast and there was no way to get a airway other than cut on him.
As for the 19-year-old little bitch who did this, I hope she's seen her last crack pipe for about 99 years, and her kids have seen the last of her, perriod.
