RIP brothers, our thoughts and prayers go out to your families and your Department...
May the wrath of God and his angels decend upon the cowards who committed this crime without giving you a fighting chance.
"Bolton said of the officers, one of whom he said had been with the force for four years, the other for two. 'Apparently, they had no chance, for it appeared they were ambushed.'"

01-16-08, 12:29 PM #13RIPATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Police are hunting for suspects in the killings of two off-duty police officers early Wednesday as they worked security at an apartment complex near Atlanta, Georgia.
Investigators catalog evidence where two police officers were shot dead Wednesday in DeKalb County, Georgia.
"We do know that there were at least two people involved, and we did have some witnesses that were able to give us some accounts that really, really will help us along," DeKalb County Police Chief Terrell Bolton told CNN.
Six county schools are on lockdown as police search for the suspects, a school spokesman said.
The uniformed officers were responding to a call about a suspicious person when someone fired at them shortly before 1 a.m., Bolton said.
One officer died at the scene; the other died at an Atlanta hospital.
"They didn't stand a chance," Bolton told reporters.
Authorities are looking for two men who ran from the scene after the shooting at the Glenwood Gardens apartments in Decatur, east of Atlanta.
"They know who they are," Bolton said. "They know we're hunting them down."
One of the officers had been with the DeKalb County Police Department for four years; the other had a slightly shorter tenure. Both had children.
Bolton told CNN the officers were not only trying to supplement their salaries by doing the off-duty work, but also trying to improve the neighborhood.
"This apartment complex, while challenging, is similar to a number of apartment complexes around the country -- a lot of issues, social issues there," Bolton said.
"These officers were doing their best moonlighting to try and help this community out and try to make life better for those children in this complex."
Speaking at a 4:30 a.m. news conference, a visibly shaken Bolton said he has a son the same age as one of the officers.
"Having to go out and deal with family, and the police chief knocking on your door at 2 a.m., it's very difficult. But guess what? We're going to deal with it."
And, in a comment directed to the suspects, Bolton said, "If I were you, I'd turn myself in. The sun is coming up. Before sundown, we're going to find you."*************************"It wouldn't take much for me to up and run...to another life somewhere in the sun."

Police hunt for the killers of 2 DeKalb officers
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- Police launched a wide dragnet for at least two gunmen who shot and killed two DeKalb County police officers early Wednesday morning at a Glenwood Road apartment complex.
LIVE UPDATES:On Channel 2 Action News @ 5 & 6
DeKalb Police Chief Terrell Bolton identified the officers as Eric Barker, 33, and 26-year-old Ricky Bryant Jr. Bryant was a two-year veteran of the department, and Barker worked there for four years.
A $25,000 reward for information on the killings was announced by DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Vernon Jones. Bishop Eddie Long is putting up $10,000 of the reward, with the DeKalb Police Foundation and Atlanta Police Foundation each offering $5,000.
"We're gonna hunt 'em down," said Bolton during an afternoon news conference. "Of all the avenues I've gone down as police chief this one was the darkest and the toughest hour I've ever had."
The officers reportedly were off-duty, but in uniform working as security guards at the Glenwood Garden Apartments at 4371 Glenwood Road. Police said it appears they were checking out reports of a suspicious person at the apartments just after 12:30 a.m. when they were shot. Neither officer drew their weapon, according to investigators.
Police think at least two gunmen attacked the officers.
"They were ambushed," Bolton said during a news conference near the scene of the shootings. "I have never seen such brutality."
A tow truck driver called police to the scene around 12:40 a.m. and the arriving officers found the two officers down, according to Bolton.
One of the officers died at the scene, the other on the way to the hospital and was declared dead at Grady Memorial Hospital, according to police officials.
Bolton said they were in their late 20s to early 30s and said they both were like sons to him. He said one had two years experience and the other had four years.
Officers at the scene told WSB-TV Channel 2's Tiffani Reynolds that one of the officers has four children under 12-years-old.
"These police officers were heros," said DeKalb CEO Jones. "What happened to them was an outright cowardly act."
"We will not rest until the persons responsible for this are apprehended," added Jones.
Bolton is urging the suspects to turn themselves in.
"We're hurting right now," Bolton said. "But we'll get through this. We'll deal with it and we'll apprehend them."
More than 50 officers, including the DeKalb County SWAT team responded to the area.
A command center has been set up at a shopping center in the 4,000 block of Glenwood Road.
Commuters are advised to stay out of the area as police searching for the gunmen shut down some roads.
Schools in the area will be on lockdown during the police search. Those schools include: Columbia High, Towers High, Snapfinger Elementary, Atherton Elementary, Wadsworth Elementary and Glenhaven Elementary. Exterior doors at the schools will be locked and movement in and out of the buildings will be closely monitored.
The schools will be on lockdown until they receive an "all clear" message from DeKalb Police.
Some school buses will be rerouted during the search for the suspects.
Police have scheduled a 1:00 p.m. news conference at the scene of the shootings.
Bolton advised the men who shot the officers to turn themselves in. He said during a pre-dawn news conference, "The sun's coming up. Before sundown, we're gonna find you."
