BONSALL – A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer suffered moderate injuries Sunday night after he was struck from behind by a 20-year-old driver who failed to stop as traffic came to a halt.
The officer was struck by a Honda Accord on eastbound Gopher Canyon Road near Interstate 15 around 10:05 p.m., said CHP Officer Eric Newbury.
The 15-year veteran, who was not identified, punctured a lung and broke a rib when he was thrown from his department motorcycle, Newbury said.
The impact also pushed the motorcycle into a Toyota 4Runner.
The CHP plans to close Gopher Canyon Road between I-15 and Margale Lane from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to investigate the crash.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.
