Prison guard slashed by inmate; Donovan placed on lockdown

2:10 p.m. June 24, 2008
SAN DIEGO – A 'three-strike' inmate serving a life sentence at Donovan state prison slashed a guard with an improvised weapon Tuesday morning, leaving him with cuts on the back of his neck before the inmate was subdued.
The unidentified correctional officer was taken to a hospital, where he was reported in good condition. He was cut with a modified disposable razor, which officers recovered.
The assault took place as the guard was coming on duty about 8 a.m. The prison in Otay Mesa, which houses about 4,700 minimum, medium and maximum-security inmates, has been placed on lockdown until investigators can determine whether the attack was an isolated incident.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.

My youngest brother was a CO before joining the Marines. He said the inmates were brutal savages.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the CO for a speedy recovery.

I have been told by many, that inmates can be seriously whacked in the head. BE CAREFUL out there guys.
