Florida: Sheriff’s Deputy Killed in Standoff

An Okaloosa County sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed in a shootout with a man who had been ordered by a court to undergo a mental evaluation and who had twice left a hospital before barricading himself in a home, the authorities said. Deputies later shot and killed the man, Mark R. Rohlman, 46, the police said. Sheriff’s deputies served the court order to Mr. Rohlman, and twice took him to a behavior health center for evaluation. Mr. Rohlman eventually obtained a shotgun and barricaded himself inside a home in Fort Walton Beach. Sheriff’s deputies, including a special response team, tried to talk Mr. Rohlman into coming out but received no response. Officers entered the home, and Mr. Rohlman fired the gun, killing Deputy Anthony Forgione, 33, of Niceville.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.
