But they're only children
Juvenile Corrections Officer William Hesson killed by juvenile.
Juvenile Corrections Officer William Hesson, Ohio Department of Youth Services
When are we, as a society, going to wake up to the fact that we can not confuse the children who are criminals with our children. They're the ones who are breaking into homes and robbing stores as often as not. Yet we keep thinking of them as unfortunate kids from bad homes instead of dangerous felons.
Our juvenile jails are not being properly funded. I'd rather release more adult offenders so that we can isolate the kids who need to be detained so they don't drag other at risk youths into gangs and crime.
I'm sorry if this is a bit preachy for an announcement relating to an officer's death.

The juvenile justice situation is a complete joke, and it cost the life of Hesson. Rest easy bro.

Waste of time to even arrest them half the time...they go right back to mommy and daddy who apparently have no control or dont care anyway. Not to mention apparently they like to go to kiddie jail...they have told me so. Much better than home they say...the guards are nice...their friends are there and they can plan all the little hoodlum activities for when they get out. Waste of time.
Prayers for family and friends. RIP Brother.
