Injured Cop Robbed During Accident
Injured cop robbed after 3-vehicle crash - Chicago Breaking News
Sorry to be away from O/R for a while working the 1st watch for the past six months has kicked my butt.
The officer is involved in an accident and is seriously injured word is coming in but not confirmed that he might be paralyzed so my prayers go out to this officer and his family.
What burns me up inside is that this officer was hurt in a crash at a busy intersection do the fine citizens of chicago's south side render aid, no. This Officer while he was unable to move and defend himself was robbed of his weapon, wallet , star , and other personnal items. Just to think that some animal moved him possibly exacerbating his injuries is beyond belief. Where is the public outcry where is the Mayor , and the store fronts reverends. The people who did this are pure scum, i hope they are caught soon please say a prayer for this officer" The hardest thing about disarming an armed suspect is not slipping on your own shit "

Does this surprise anyone about the people of Chicago in general? I'm sure there are good people living there but the city has quite a reputation for corruption and disgusting things such as this, from what I have heard. My hat is off to all in LE that choose to work in this city. It appears not to be an easy job, compared to some of the other places in the US. Hopefully the officer can get over his injuries and get back to work protecting what good people there are left in Chicago.

You worded that terribly. I grew up in Chicago. How can you talk about the people there "in general" while then making sure to emphasize that you're sure there are still goo people there?

What the hell does that mean??? Scum bags come from all over. I was born in California but Chicago is my home since I was 1. Please don't generalize everyone who lives in Chicago based on what you heard, the people who did this to this officer are not even human f#$%@ beings. I grew up here in Chicago and all I ever wanted to be was a Chicago Police Officer so unless you work in Mayberry somewhere don't ever compare your job to mine. My Department might not be the best but we try to do the job with what we have. There are alot of good hard working people who live in this city and it's my job to take care of the scumbags who mess it up for everyone else. If there is any way to change your perceptions of Chicago I would like to envite you to come here to visit anytime we'll hoist a few brews and have some deep dish pizza on me." You're both right. I probably did word that badly. I shouldn't generalize. No offense or disrespect meant. Yes, there are sub-humans and scumbags everywhere. It just seems that there are more of them in the bigger cities. Maybe its when I read that Daley did this or Blagojevich did that, or our current President did the other thing, or the history that the mob has had with Chicago in the past, and then I get caught up in the moment. My apologies. I shouldn't be making comments about someplace that I have never been to.
I guess every place has its perks and quirks. CA politics isn't that great either if you go by, say Feinstein, Boxer, Pelosi, etc. Then there's the comments about sliding into the ocean, everyone owning beach front property, and accusing everyone living in CA of living an alternative lifestyle, or even being a liberal, for that matter.
I have been accused of living in Mayberry, though. That is, until my city suffered its first LODD since its incorporation sometime in the 1800's. Bigger cities unfortunately, have more experience in that area. That being said, it was not my interest to enter into job comparisons. I actually have no experience with living in a big city, outside of the first eight years of my life growing up in Los Angeles. Though I have visited the ones in CA several times. I live in California's farm valley.
If I ever find myself traveling east, I'll let you know. Sounds like fun. I've heard that Chicago has great pizza. Probably different than what I am used to here in CA, but I am willing to try new things.
I am glad they found the perps that committed this heinous act. This officer didn't deserve this at all.

Who does the suspect think the police are? Stupid? I'm glad he decided to turn himself in, thus saving the authorities from hunting him down. Though, he probably would have been found anyway, I hope. From what I read, it appears that he may have exacerbated the officers injuries by moving him. How despicable! I also read that the officer's parents are in LE. So Sad.
