SEMINOLE, Oklahoma -- Two Seminole County sheriff's deputies have been shot and killed and a bystander was also shot during an incident in Seminole early Sunday evening.
Police have arrested 26-year-old Ezekiel Holbert at a home behind a Taco Mayo located near Milt Phillips and College avenues, where the incident began. Holbert is expected to be charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He may also face other charges.
Several agencies including local police officers, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Seminole County Sheriff's Office investigated the scene. Officers evacuated the area and asked local businesses to shut down while they were searching for Holbert before his arrest.
Police were able to use a tactical team robot to enter the home, using a PA system to announce their presence and ask Holbert to surrender. A few minutes later, Holbert surrendered to authorities without incident.
A witness, Bryan Hause, who was working next store at a tire business, said the incident began when two deputies arrived at the home and told the person inside they had two seconds to open the door before the deputies would force their way in.
The deputies were serving a warrant for domestic assault by strangulation. The deputies kicked down the door and that's when Hause said the first shots were fired, hitting one deputy in the face. The witness said the other officer ran and was shot in the back several times.
A female bystander, who was walking outside near the home, was also hit by gunfire. The bystander's name and condition has not been released.

Just because your sign off after you're shift is done, doesn't mean that it's over and put blinders on. You're a cop 24/7 wether you like it or not. If thats something you can't handle, you should find a new line of work!

Deputy Sheriff Robbie Chase Whitebird was laid to rest today.
Deputy Sheriff Marvin Williams will be laid to rest Saturday.
