I'm in Chicago now. I grew up here, and am visiting family and friends. And this is exactly why I pack EVERYWHERE I go. My family doesn't understand it and I don't bother explaining it. This is all the reaffirmation I need.

My condolences. This kind of crap saddens and angers me to no end. To have an individual serve our country, only to be cut down off duty by a bunch of thugs. I hope they catch every single one of them scumbags and put them to death. Too bad that his father wasn't able to get them all.
Please, keep doing that. I, for one, expect a LEO to be packing 24 / 7 / 365. Sleep with it if you have to. On-duty or off, it doesn't matter. The way society is these days, you just never know when you might be confronted with an instance such as this.

I do the same thing whenever I'm down there visiting my sisters and their families. It's also why I normally drive instead of fly. I don't trust checking my firearm (because of Midway and O'Hare luggage workers), so I'd rather drive 6 hours. Originally Posted by 121Traffic
