Police Officers put themselves at risk for strangers every day. Some do not make it home to their families. Next time you think of saying something negative about the police, remember...YOU are one of the strangers.

I'm in Chicago now. I grew up here, and am visiting family and friends. And this is exactly why I pack EVERYWHERE I go. My family doesn't understand it and I don't bother explaining it. This is all the reaffirmation I need.
Stay safe out there brothers and sisters. Especially to my cross country brothers in blue here in the COC.

My condolences. This kind of crap saddens and angers me to no end. To have an individual serve our country, only to be cut down off duty by a bunch of thugs. I hope they catch every single one of them scumbags and put them to death. Too bad that his father wasn't able to get them all.
Please, keep doing that. I, for one, expect a LEO to be packing 24 / 7 / 365. Sleep with it if you have to. On-duty or off, it doesn't matter. The way society is these days, you just never know when you might be confronted with an instance such as this.
Anybody that thinks that LE shouldn't be carrying off duty is a blind sheep. "Oh, this kind of stuff will never happen." Bullshit!!! It just did.
Also, I would think that one would never announce that they are LE and not be armed and / or have it out. He may have not had the chance to draw his weapon. I don't know if this would be the case in this instance, but it seems that there are way too many variables that could happen when the SHTF.
Protect yourselves, PLEASE. One LE death is one too many. The life you save may be your own.
Choose The Right. When you're doing whats right, then you have nothing to worry about.

My God, what is going on in that city with the officer killings? What a horrible, tragic story. RIP Ofc. Wortham. May equal justice be thrust upon all involved. An eye for an eye.
As today's police officers you are not unlike your counterparts of years past. You are an elite group of select members, a brotherhood of highly trained professionals, who are called upon to protect your community in a time of need. Guardians for safety. Being a police officer is not for the faint of heart. You must be honest, trustworthy and fearless in the face of evil. You are being watched everyday. Represent yourself, your department and the shield, for it should always be the embodiment of all that is good and justly. You are the thin blue line. Be proud, be tough and be safe.

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
