Sgt. Wes Whitmore died today after being struck by a vehicle while he was outside of his vehicle in a 7-11 parking lot. I've heard different stories that he was just parking there, and that he had just finished a traffic stop. But, on impact his vehicle spun around and struck him. Wes was a good guy, friend, and great supervisor. I worked both with him when he was a detective and worked my area and later for him before he transfered to Central District to supervise a shift there. He will be sorely missed.
