Two US Marshals, Police Officer Wounded In St.Louis
A shooting broke out in St. Louis this morning as authorities tried to serve an arrest warrant, leaving a suspect dead and two deputy U.S. marshals and a St. Louis police officer wounded, authorities say.
The suspect, later identified as 35-year-old Carlos Boles, opened fire on the law enforcement officers as they entered his home, authorities said. They returned fire and killed Boles.
One deputy U.S. marshal was in critical condition after being shot in the head. The second marshal was wounded in the ankle and was undergoing surgery this afternoon.
The police officer, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, suffered a graze wound and was also injured when he fell after getting shot, police spokeswoman Katie O'Sullivan said. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
