Aiken SC officer down

Two officers shot, one killed. This happened close enough to my home that I heard the sirens.

Master Public Safety Officer Scotty Richardson, age 33, was rushed to Georgia Health Sciences University where he died from his wounds. A second officer also was shot. He is identified as Public Safety Officer Travis Griffin, age 28. Officer Griffin was treated and released from a hospital and is now with his family. Authorities say his bulletproof vest saved his life.

My daughter posted this on her facebook today. Made me proud.

"Please keep the 2 police officers that were shot last night in your prayers. The officer that died late last night, Scott, was married and had three young children. They have all three suspects detained, but no matter what happens to the suspects, it will never make up for the loss of an officer's life. God sent Jesus down to forgive us and protect us from evil. God also sent police officers to protect us, no matter the danger. We are blessed to have police officers on this earth. So if you see an officer with a black strip across his badge, pray for them and give them a hug, they deserve it."
