It is a sad day for us here today about 8:00 am . A Highway Patrol Officer was fatally shot when he pulled over a vehicle in the New South Wales country town of Tamworth.
The other person is in Hospital with gunshot wounds and is under Police Guard another person alleged in the vehicle was arrested a short time later.
Senior Constable David Rixon leaves behind six children and a loving wife.
