    Funeral information for RCMP Officers Cst. Marc Bourdages and Cst. Robin Cameron

    Both funerals will be open to the media with restrictions to be announced later.

    Cst. Robin Cameron

    A public wake for Cst. Robin Cameron will begin Wednesday July 19 at 1:00 p.m. at the Willow Cree Memorial Center located on the Beardy’s Okemasis First Nation near Rosthern, Saskatchewan. This wake is open to the public and peace officers 24 hours a day prior to the funeral.

    A RCMP Regimental funeral with traditional First Nations ceremony will be held at the Willow Cree Memorial Center on Friday July 21, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service is open to the public and peace officers with a private interment to follow in the Beardy’s Okemasis cemetery.

    Overflow facilities if needed for the funeral will take place in the Willow Cree Education Complex located on the Beardy’s Okemasis First Nation.

    Cst. Marc Bourdages

    A RCMP Regimental funeral open to the public will take place on Tuesday July 25, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the RCMP Training Academy. The service will take place in the RCMP Chapel with overflow facilities in the Drill Hall. Private interment at the RCMP Cemetery.

    The family is planning a memorial service in Marc’s hometown of Saint Eustache, Quebec at a later time with those details to be announced in future.

    In response to requests the following information is being provided:

    Books of Condolence: Starting tomorrow at noon, there will be books of condolence available for signing at the RCMP “F” Division Headquarters in Regina, 6101 Dewdney Avenue. Books will also be available in Spiritwood at the RCMP Detachment and the Willow Cree Memorial Center, Beardy’s and Okemasis First Nation.

    Flower Donations: The family of Cst. Bourdages have asked that those individuals wishing to send flowers may do so by sending flowers to the Spiritwood RCMP detachment. These flowers will be shared with the citizens and organizations of Spiritwood who have been so helpful to our officers. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations in Cst. Bourdages memory can be made to:

    “F” Division Slain Peace Officers Fund

    6101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3K7

    Those organizations or individuals wishing to send flowers on behalf of Cst. Cameron can send those to the Beardy’s First Nation c/o of the Willow Cree Memorial Center.

    Trust Fund: A trust fund has been set up on behalf of Cst. Robin Cameron and Cst. Marc Bourdages with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC). Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so at any CIBC bank in Canada starting Wednesday, July 19.

    The funds donated will be distributed equally to families of each officer.

    Both left children behind, Marc a 9 yr old son, and Robin a single mother an 11 yr old daughter.

    I beleive that most of the larger hotel chains are offering discounted rooms for police officers attending the funneral. (Ramada, Detla, Quality Inn, etc, but please call and confrim in advance.)
