Chief Jeffery Womack
July 31, 2006
The officers and staff of the Chaffee Police Department are profoundly sad to report that Chief of Police Jeffrey G. Womack passed away early this morning at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau of a apperent massive heart attack. Chief Womack was a man dedicated to service to his country and his community.
Chief Womack served with the United States Air Force Security Police until his honorable discharge in 1976 as a Sergeant. After leaving the Air Force, he served with the Jackson Police Department and joined the Missouri State Highway Patrol in June of 1978. Chief Womack served the State of Missouri with distinction for 24 years until his retirement as a Sergeant in April of 2003. Chief Womack left retirement to become Chief of Police for our department in 2004.
During his tenure with our department, Chief Womack worked hard for the reorganization of the department and was a diligent and respected servant of the community. We would like to extend our most sincere sympathies to his family and say he will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be at Watkins and Son Funeral Home in Parma, Missouri on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 10:00 am at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Chief Womack will be sadly missed by myself, as well as every member of this department and community.
Please keep us and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Rest in peace, Chief. We got this watch.
And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.
In Nomine Patris, Et Filli, Et Spiritus Sancti.

Rest in Peace. You earned it.
