Two bike officers killed
In Indiana police officers from around the state ride across Indiana every year to raise funds for COPS. They started the ride last week. Today, a crash occurred with 2 officers being killed and a third in critical condition being air lifted.
Supposedly an unknown vehicle struck the rear support vehicle pushing that into the bikes. Details are still coming in.
Keep them in your prayers, please.

My understanding is one of the officers recently retired to take this ride and this past weekend gave his daughter away in marriage. What a great retirement....hope the jerk who did this pays.

That is so sad. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends.

Well, I've just spent the last 4 days in Merrillville, helping to plan the funeral of fallen Chief Gary Martin of the Lake County Sheriff's Dept. It went very well despite the rain soaked weather. Officers came from all over the state as well as Illinois and even Memphis, TN, where Chief Martin was originally from. The rain and very low ceilings prevented a scheduled helicopter fly over. Later today in Indianapolis will be the funeral for Lt. Gary Dudley of Indiana State Police.
