Detective Thomas was shot and killed by a suspect who opened fire on him while he sat a traffic light at the intersection of Peoria Street and Montview Boulevard. Detective Thomas had just left a training session and was heading to another session when the incident occurred.

The suspect was subdued by several passers-by and then taken into custody by an Aurora police officer and two Colorado Department of Corrections officers who happened to be in the area. The suspect was wanted in Denver for a unprovoked shooting that had occurred the previous week.

Detective Thomas had served with the Aurora Police Department for 24 years.

Rest in peace. Another senseless death. We should bring back public execution for assholes like this.

The sad part is, our brothers and sisters are going to continue to be slaughtered until the justice system decides that true criminals belong behind bars.

How much do you guys want to bet that he was a convicted felon? I might be wrong, but I'd be surprised. Even if he's not, he'll get out in 15-20 probably.
