A witness on the stand...

This one was told to me quite a few years ago by a SC SLED agent.
There had been a night shooting under a street light and an old Afro American man, standing several hundred feet from the scene claimed to the investigating officers that he had witnessed the shooting and could identify the suspect.
During the trial the witness was put on the stand and the defense attorney commenced grilling him, saying...Hmm, so you claim you saw Sam shoot Joe, on a dark night with no more light than what's given off by a street lamp. Smiling sarcastically, the attorney continued, "You must have super eyes, or was wearing night goggles to have been able to have seen my client shoot Joe, just how far can you see at night?"
The witness replies, I can see the moon, how far is dat?
