The phone rings at the Parish 911, and the new girl answers her first call exactly as trained.
“Emergency services, this is Marie what is the nature of your emergency?”
A very exited out of breath voice on the other end yells MARIE! DIS HERE IS BOUDREAUX! ME AND OLD MAN JOHN BEEN A SQUIRREL HUNTIN DOWN BY DA BAYOU! JIST NOW, OLD MAN JOHN, HE DROP HIS GUN, HE GRAB HIS CHESS, AND HE FALL DOWN! HE FLOP AROUND A BIT, BUT NOW HE REAL STILL! MARIE, I TINK HE DEAD! I GRAB MY CELL PHONE AND CALL YOU! WHAT I DO NOW?
Marie replied using her most calming voice just as she had been trained to do. Mr Boudreax, calm down you have done the right thing. We have handled these types of things many times before. Now this sounds like a possible heart attack with the victim dead. Now Sheriff Thibodeaux has made up a list of things to in this situation. You and I will work our way though the list and everything will be alright. Are you with me Mr. Boudreaux?
