Spell check............lol
Ok here goes.............while working at a smaller department here in South Louisiana, we had a Sgt. Cox. Well of course as it goes we always getting statements from victims and such. One night we working and we get a large fight at a club, we gathering statements and one of the witnesses is a young female. She advises that she witnessed the whole thing. I get her to write her statement and tell her write the Sgt's name on the form, she asks his name and I advise her his name is "Sgt. Cox. So she writes it and I read it real quick, mostly to make sure she has all her information on there in case we need to contact her.
We get back to the P.D., and I take a closer look at the statement and believe it or not this young lady, not trying to be funny or anything, maybe just not too bright, spells Cox.............well I am sure you can figure out how she spelled it...........................

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

When my wife was born, and using family names here, she was almost named Grace Ada Park for her first and middle names. In Modesto, CA where she was born there is a park by the name of Graceada Park. To add insult to injury her maternal grandfather wanted to name her Brucina Thorellina after him and his best friend. Thank God her mother chose a more traditional first name.
