Good one Dapples.

This may be one of those "had to be there" funny moments,..but I'm gonna tell it anyway.
Let me set the scene first. As of now, my family is staying at my wife's grandfathers house. By my family I mean, my wife, my kids, inlaws, wife's grandfather and his girlfriend and me.
The other night, no one felt like cooking anything to eat. We were all pretty much burnt out from working all day in the yard on the roof, whatever. We decided to tear open a box of MRE (Meal Ready to Eat). It did kind of remind me a little of Chrstmas the way my wife, mother-in-law and kids were checking out each others bags and asking "Whatcha' get...Whatcha get???"
Father-in-law even made the statement he was going to give everone MRE's for Christmas this year because of how excited they were.
Like I said, may have been one of those "had to be there" moments,.but it put a smile on my face.

I always hated Hurricane season, always ended up having to work through the hurricane. When I worked in accounting in the hotels, had to be there to cover the front desk and make sure the safe and records were secure, when I worked in the jail, mandatory call in for all officers. Sat at work and worried that my house would still be there. Thank god I'm not in Florida any more!!!!!
My dad, I miss him every day.
