I'll have to ask some of my Sikh Indian friends if they have had any of these Jolokias (Bhut, Naga, etc.) They probably put it in some kind of dish with other ingredients to dilute the heat.
My guess is that the reason they call it a ghost pepper is that it is hot enough to kill a ghost.
