    A Smile

A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.

It enriches those who receive it,
without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment, but the memory
    of it sometimes lasts forever.

None is so rich or mighty that he
    can get along without it,
and none is so poor but that
he can be made rich by it.

A smile creates happiness in the home,
    fosters goodwill in business,
and is the countersign of friendship.

It brings rest to the weary,
cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,
and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.

Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,
or stolen, for it is something that is of no
value to anyone until it is given away.

Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile
so much as he who has no more to give.

That behavior is exactly what keeps a lot of people out of church. Funny, but a lot of truth to it.

Churches? Don't talk to me about churches or church-goin people.

You think the drama and sexual innuendo HERE is bad?

We're not even in the same league.

Tell me about it... Reason I don't go. I got tired of the backstabbing. It's a shame though. Well, that and I lost my faith. But, that's really just a far second though.

Well I'd hate to see what would happen to some church going folks then if they got on here

Ain't that the truth! I remember these so-called friends I used to have that claimed to be Catholic and went to church every Sunday, but were the worst backstabbers I have ever known.

I go too church. Wouldnt consider myself religious too any great extent. In fact if I didnt go every week I would be burning before the bus even hit me.

Nah, that comment was more in line with a private discussion I'd been having. I have nothing against those who go to church, used to go myself before I came up here. We have a chapel on base but no chaplain right now.
