To me, "busting a grumpy" is a solitary act that must be done in abject silence, in a quiet room with good acoustics, creating a satisfying rumble accompanied by an odor that is unappreciated by anyone but the producer. That, my friends, is "busting a grumpy."

Not quite sure about the "abject silence".
Depending on the size and lubricity of the "grumpy", there could be a certain amount of accompanying groanin' and gruntin' being utilized to assist in ejecting said "grumpy" from it's confines.
The bigger and drier the "grumpy", the louder the gruntin' and groanin'.
