Thread: Presidents Day
05-11-11, 05:23 AM #1
I was eating lunch on the 20th of February with my 10-year-old
Granddaughter and I asked her, "What day is tomorrow?"
She said "It's President's Day!"
She is a smart kid.
I asked "What does President's Day mean?"
I was waiting for something about Washington or Lincoln ... etc.
She replied, "President's Day is when President Obama steps out of the White
House, and if he sees his shadow we have one more year of unemployment."
You know, it hurts when hot coffee spurts out your nose.

Maybe Obama would be able to see his shadow if there weren't a cloud of Republicans hovering over him trying to rain on his parade!

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
