I'd have hit the kid too, but I admit I laughed my ass off and started thinking of ways to improve the prank. (emergency lighting, a single UV light bulb, well applied UV makeup, etc)

I don't like being startled or scared like that. A couple of weeks ago I almost elbowed a little old lady in the stomach for tapping me on the back and startling me while I was sitting in a restaurant. Thank goodness I looked before I made contact with her. All she wanted was to tell me that my purse (which was hanging on my chair) was unzipped.
