Did your Diplomat have the rear door and trunk features i.e. falling off the back due to the frame breaking?? Our contract mechanic in Yakima loved to see me and the Aviation Sgt bring in our two garage queens ( '82 Diplomats) for another long visit.

I remember it had a carb. The steering column fell off while I was responding to a call. It would squeak like you wouldn't believe over bumps. I haven't really seen any improvements from dodge since.

Dimmer switches should be on the floor, push button shifting was crap - still is even though Dodge made it a dial, speaking of which, remember taking a dislike to people with a 9 in their phone number? Not 911 since we didn't have that back then. All the municipal/county service numbers posted by the phone, and remember it's the Sheriff after 6pm.

Hey! I remember those! My grandparents had a party line until I was about 12. I had forgotten about it.

On the serious side, I'm so old I remember seeing the news reports on the war and thinking that when a boy grew up he had to go in the army and go to Vietnam. Two of my brothers went, I just assumed that it was what you did.
