I love dumb taggers...
I have a personal issue with taggers as I’ve spent close to $5,000.oo over the last 2 years cleaning up after the little bastards. So I go out of my way to catch them in the act on video for a few reasons. The video don’t lie and having them on tape giving their tag will tie them into many other acts of vandalism.
Anyway I’m driving down North Main St.; a major drag in the Capitol City, at about 02:00 and glance over to my right to see this idiot and going to town on the side of a friends Pawn Shop; making it even more personal since I know the owner of the property!
Since I have squeaky breaks; will be fixed in the morning, he heard me go by and looked me in the eyes. I stopped on the next street over to grab my video camera and notify the locals by cell. As I went to exit my truck the little bastard comes out of the bushes and tries to walk right past my truck like it was nothing.
So I pop open the door hopping out and giving my ASP an quick snap; gotta love the attention getting sound of it opening, and ordered the clown to grab the hood of the truck which he did. He was so surprised he didn’t even realize I was not a LEO.
I call the PD back to let them know I was now detaining the vandal and referred to him as a juvenile only to have him correct me by stating he’s not a kid he’s 18!
18!! Are you shitting me? You haven’t grown up yet.
While I was detaining him; WITH OUT FORCE, I had him sit on his hands on the curb knuckles down with his feet crossed in front of him and raised up on his back pack until Pete; the arresting officer, arrived and took him into custody.
I was asked if I had searched him and I said NO since he was not a bail bond fugitive that I was aware of and I didn’t want to compromise any evidence he may still have on him.
A quick pat down found paint markers in his pockets and a can of spray paint in his waist band. An inventory of his back pack relieved more paint, paint parkers, stickers, and some dope.
He proudly admitted to tagging hundreds of buildings over the last few years. He was arrested and photos taken of his tag for future charges.
He actually admitted to it and bragged about doing it for years because he was boared!Last edited by AgentParsons; 08-15-06 at 05:34 AM.

I hate taggers myself. We have quite a few "crews" here. One thing the city did, that really works, was form a team called IMPACT. They respond to graffiti calls and have them removed within 48 hours. They even document the graffiti with a digital photo and it gets emailed to our departments intelligence unit. There it gets disseminated to gang officers and other units.
Impact is great and it sends a message that graffiti won't be tolerated. It means a lot when the stuff is gone within 48 hours, most of the time it's within 24.

Our team grabbed 3 that were tagging gang signs on the roof of a couple of businesses. We have an ordinance now that forces them to do 40 hrs of community service for each charge. We nabbed these clowns with 5, and they have to pay restitution, cash only. If no cash, straight to jail. If they are juveniles mommy and daddy have to pay the cash.

I've heard of lots of taggers with guns too, so be careful who you pull an ASP on. At the least it can get you in legal trouble.

OMFG its painful at the level of intelligence of this guy...
I just caught him again and he was trying to finish the tag I caught him doing last night!
What was he thinking
He made bail and was released at 20:00 from the ACI and at 21:10 he was back at the same spot doing it again!
I was tempted to take his paint and spray his face...
Plus I just found out the Mayors office is offering rewards for those caught in the act of tagging!

Something this clown won't learn now or later. But keep on keppin on, its nice to see people getting involved, just be careful just how involved you become. Don't want you to jeperdize your own safety for a stupid tagger.
