Help with copy-paste links

HOW does one take a link say from a news story or photo from Tinypic and change the words so when its pasted here it can be re-worded?
For example, if I copy a link from a newspaper www.postgazette.com/asdhuwedn!@#$%sdnfns {not a real link}
and make it
CLICK HERE......

Im alittle dumb when it comes to this :angel:

highlight what you want to copy with ure mouse by holding the left clicker then hit the right one to copy. to paste go where u want to go hit the left clicker again and paste. then u can edit what u want

Allow me to be of some assistance :)

All you have to do is go like this: (without the spaces)

[ U R L = www.notarealsitebutitsallicouldthinkof.com ]whatever you want it to say, type it here[ / U R L ]

And when you are done, it looks like this

Whatever you want it to say, type it here

So I have to copy the link then add the ^^ above thingy at the end of the original text, add this> [/url]] click here type thngy of new words no spaces[/url]
I have to actually spell out the letters URL in the newly written whatever I re-name it? I try here.:biggrin1:

Another way is to to go ahead and copy the link don't paste it just yet, then type out what you want it to say then highlight what you just typed. Then click on the insert a link icon above and paste the link in there. Hit "OK" and it is done.

Or you can use the icon that looks like the earth with a paperclip right above the text box. When you click on it, paste the link into the window that pops up. Then whatever you type in the highlighted area will appear as text that you can click on to go to the URL you pasted in the box.
