    Imbed YouTube Clips in Posts

I'm on a couple other websites that you can just put the part after the equal sign in the following address into [yt][/yt] tags. You can then just click on the play button on a preview screen in the post to play video.

    youtube.com/watch?v=dnisoR_xb3k
So, your post text would look like this...
    [yt]dnisoR_xb3k[/yt]

What it looks like after you submit the post...

This would be a nice addition to the site!

I will check into it. I know R/P just started doing that, but not many seemed excited about it over there. However, if I think it will improve the site, I'll do it.

    I'm with gopher

You can do a fake version of that such as : (from an old post)

But that just launches another site which directs users away. Nice thing about embed is people can watch without leaving the site or having a new window open. One of many gadgets a site owner has in their toolbox to keep users active on the site.

I would say to keep it limited to the video section though. Make the plug-in global, but with extremely limited use in other sections.

Since it's linking to an outside source, you're not using LEF bandwidth. As long as the video clips follow the TOS for the section they're posted in, I don't think they should be restricted.

I agree. It's eating YouTube bandwidth, so if it's relevant it should be able to be posted
