Will supporting members get an email notice before their membership status expires a month or ? prior to it expiring or are we to keep track ourselves?

Right now you have to keep track of it, and you'll either know by your own records, or figure it out when you get booted out of the premium member category, losing access to the Arcade, and Supporting Member area.

We'd like to set up a system with a reminder. When we can get that done, we will. I am sure it's easy to forget.

I got emailed a reminder through Paypal that my annual subscription was up for renewal.
