We are changing homes. LEF is moving to a new server right now

I'd like to thank you, the LEF'er, for all of the support you've shown. Because of our recent Supporting Member increase, we're now able to afford to move from our existing server, which shares about 15-30 different sites on it, to a completely dedicated server. The dedicated server better meets our needs. It allows us to customize the hardware setup as well as the software to meet exact needs. Data access is faster and high traffic is easily accommodated.

Since we're moving to a new home, this will involve some downtime. This move will be complete within the next 24 hours.

When the move is complete, you may or may not notice a plain page when you return. If so, this means that the new IP address has not registered on your ISP's network yet. That should not last more than a couple hours. Just click the new temporary link on the blank page to get to the site.

You will notice that a member named Ryan Spevak has posted an announcement in General Topics reguarding this matter. He is our computer guy, and is working on the move for us right now.

Please be patient during this time of transition. We would like to thank our supporting members again for making this possible.

Actually, I didn't know it was going to happen until it started happening. I mean, I knew it would be this week, but our computer guy is so high speed and on top of things, it's unbelievable.

Basically it will allow the site to load pages smoother, and run quicker, without constipation. So what's the price tag on a virtual laxative, you ask? A minimum of $50. a month for the cheapest of the cheap dedicated servers.

Congrats guys. Good to see things going further!

We really could not do it with out the support that you guys have given!

Because of the Supporting memberships we since the changes (3 months) we are able to put the arcade in, Upgrade Chat, And now Upgrade severs!

Our Funds are getting low but that is ok as we promised Every Penny that is paid by supporting members goes right back into the site.

In the future I am looking at a new MP3 Player for the site. I have found one but am saving our pennies so we can get it!

I have definitely noticed an increase in speed. Seems like a nice, smooth transition.

That is Great But unless you have a time machine we have not gone anywhere yet! We have to wait for our server to do a Dump for us. LOL I hope it is as smooth as you say it was! :biggrin1: :bowl: ;)

If you haven't transitioned yet, then you fooled me. All pages are loading faster than they have been in the past.
